28th Summer School “Dynamical Systems and Complexity”

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 28TH SUMMER SCHOOL – CONFERENCE

 “DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS AND COMPLEXITY”

Chania, Crete, 18 – 26 July, 2022

The Complex Systems and Applications Network (COSA-Net, http://cosa.inn.demokritos.gr/ ) coordinated by the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” announces the organization of the 28th Summer School – Conference “Dynamical Systems and Complexity”, July 18 – 26, 2022. The event will be online, except for Friday 22/7 and Saturday 23/7, when it will also take place in person at the Cultural Center of Chania, Chania, Crete.

This year’s event is dedicated to the 70th birthday of Professor Athanassios Fokas, who will present in the above two days (22/07 and 23/07), together with some of his colleagues, highlights of their most important achievements.

Athanassios Fokas is Professor of Non – Linear Science of the University of Cambridge. In the year 2000, he was awarded the United Kingdom’s Naylor prize in Applied Mathematics and in 2005 the “Order of Pheonix Award” by the President of the Greek Republic. He was elected full member of the Academy of Athens in 2004 and member of the European Academy of Science and the Arts of Saltzburg in 2021.

During the online part of the 28th School – Conference, there will be introductory and research lectures focusing on issues of integrability, nonlinear systems, chaotic dynamics, fractal geometry, complex networks and artificial intelligence, and their applications in Neuroscience, Biology, Physics, Photonics, Geosciences, Technology and Economics. There will be lectures by young researchers, as well as courses on contemporary topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The proceedings of the 28th School-Conference will be published by the Spring Series in Complexity.
